Actually, D.C.'s Congressional rep, Eleanor Holmes
Norton, said today that D.C. itself is paying the
wages and per diem of the extra officers (possibly
from their anti-terrorism monies), in addition to many
of the other associated costs. She didn't mention who
picked up the transport costs, nor whether those
officers are drawing any pay from their home
departments as well.
