I recieved my copy today of the Mayor's news. It's very pretty and covers a
nice range of topics. It does a good job of touching on many of the key
topics oc concern iin Minneapolis. For Deputy mayor David Fey to suggest
that the timing was coincidental is preposterous. The mayor's office
recognizes that the upcoming March 1 city caucuses are critical to his
re-election efforts. This piece is clearly designed to put his honor in the
most positive possible light just a month in advance of the city caucuses.
The mayor has every right to mail and distribute the piece, but to do so at
city expense is a clear foul. His campaign should reimburse the city
immediately. In my opinion, failure to do so, is a valid reason to not
support his endorsement by the DFL.
