A bit on this theory if I may....
I live within the backdrop of the mills off Hiawatha...they are noisy, they stink, the dust in more than just bad, and I would be interested in the numbers of actual employees that the experienced DFL labor elders think work there.
Secondly, quite honestly I would love to see new developments go into those spots. I think the railroad tracks are a bit of a testy problem.
As far as new condo..etc..and the jab at CM Schiff..may I just say that the new condo development at the corner of 28th Avenue & 38th street, is the only landmark in my neighborhood. Taking a totally blah neighborhood and actually now we have a great coffeehouse "Tillies Bean", and a beautiful building. I was tired of the corner of auto repair places that honestly sucked and ripped people off. And I would love to see new developments go in the places of these "mills" and dog food factories. The Standish neighborhood has nothing, except now we have something, finally!! And I for one am thrilled.

in response to Dynas "First, let me apologize for our young Democratic Farmer Labor
endorsed Council Member; He is still a bit inexperienced and has yet
to fully appreciate the fine agrarian and working class traditions of
our party. Gary seems to look at flour mills and factories and see
condo conversions where we more experienced DFLers see jobs. Now of
course Gary's vision would be fine and dandy, but for the problem
that the citizens will have to work somewhere like those factories to
earn the money to buy his dream condos."
