Wenonah parents fight to save their school

For many parents of students at Wenonah Community School in South Minneapolis, Tuesday night was one of relief, as the Minneapolis Board of Education reversed its previous plan to shut down the school and merge it with nearby Keewaydin. The story of the proposed closing and the parents� fight to keep their neighborhood school open is only the latest of many such stories in Minneapolis, conflicts between a district losing its students and parents who want to save their schools.
