O.K. Scott, maybe you can give me a "pull yourself up by the bootstraps" answer
for this scenario.

The Minnesota legislature decides that you cannot get a Minnesota Driver's
License if you are an immigrant unless the green card or visa number is on it.
Was their rationale that this would stop all undocumented immigrants from
driving reserving that right for only good American born or registered law
abiding citizens? Remember, if you can't get a license, you also can't get
insurance.

So now citizens are faced with the fallout of this shortsited decision. We are
faced with unlicensed, uninsured undocumented residents driving the streets of
this city. (Did anyone honestly think not being able to get a license would
prevent them from trying to drive?)

Two weeks ago an undocumented inebriated person with no license and no
insurance totaled my parked car, smashed two in front of mine and then
proceeded to hit an old woman head on 4 blocks away as she drove around Lake
Calhoun. Who paid? You did, I did and everyone on this list and beyond did.

Please suggest to me how we could look out for myself here? Your suggestion
that we should just look out for ourselves is like the girl who was raped being
blamed because she wore provocative clothing or the person that gets their
house robbed being at fault because they live in a "bad" neighborhood.

If we all have to stop and proceed slowly through a green light to ensure no
one will ever run a red light and hit us, this city will be nothing but a big
giant grid lock filled with cars from communities that are less socialist.
