I need to say some things about Cam, though I don't live in Ward 2. I know Cam well and respect him, his ethics, and his commitment more than I could possibly say here. Cam has been intimately involved in Ward 2 since at least 1995, serving on the Seward neighborhood Board for 6 years, as chair of Seward's NRP Implementation Oversight Committee from 1995 - 2001 (all of Phase I), on the NRP Policy Board in 2003-04, on the Minneapolis Center for Neighborhoods Board of Directors from 1997-2001, and on the Mayor's Ethic's Task Force in 2001-02.

Think he was working hard enough for the neighborhood and the ward and the city - mostly for free?

Cam has lived in Minneapolis all his life. He's a teacher and he operates a small community based business which is progressive in philosophy and future focused in ideals. He "gets" local politics and grassroots democracy as few people I have ever met. He is calm in the face of conflict, truly values consensus and cooperation, patient with process, and understands that as long as the suburbians run the legislature, our city, our environment and our kids are going to get the short end of the stick.

You folks in Ward 2, if you want someone who is going to listen to citizen input, and who is focused on making Minneapolis a model of cooperating citizens and communities, Cam is definately your candidate.
