The Mayor and the city council spent more than they had budgeted to bring in the new Police Chief, William McManus. They and others said more needed to be done for the police to improve community relations, reduce police brutality, and other such things. Resources and bodies have been shuffled around for those. It should be no surprise with those priorities along with the cities lack of ability to make tough spending choices that things in the north part of town are getting worse. The community voted on it's priorities. And, unfortunately, it's the residents of North Minneapolis that bear the highest burdens in dealing with them.
