I was very surprised to see that Sabo is not a
cosponsor of the Military Readiness Enhancement
Act(H.R. 1059) which would replace the "don't ask,
don't tell" policy of the armed forces with a policy
of nondiscrimination on the basis of sexual
orientation. McCollum and Oberstar are both
cosponsors.
This is most noteable because in the past it has
always been Rep. Sabo who has lead the MN
congressional delegation on supporting legislation to
end discrimination against glbtiq people.
He is also absent on the family medical leave
inclusion act(H.R. 475) which would extend the fmla to
cover care for a same sex spouse, domestic partner,
parent-in-law, adult child, sibling, or grandparent.
Sabo is on far fewer bills period at this time in the
legislative session than he has been in the past.
