If you have access to a computer you could try searching for your book at
www.gutenberg.org. They've loaded 14,000 books already and are growing. It
is free to use.

You could also go to Distributed Proofreading at www.pgdp.net and help add books to the forever free public domain library at www.gutenberg.org, just by proofreading a few pages whenever you have a bit of spare time. DP is the major source of books in Project Gutenberg, with nearly 16,000 people proofreading on average a page every 15 seconds, 8-10 books every single day. It's easy, and interesting.
