Subject: [Mpls] Restructuring Mpls School Board

Posted at
http://www.mplsobserver.com/news.php?action=fullnews&id=108
, the Mpls Observer says that Rep. Davnie is pushing a
bill to restructure the Minneapolis Public School
Board.

According to the news story, the bill "would increase
the number of School Board members from six to nine.
Six of those would be elected by district and three
at-large--just as the Park Board is structured."

Is there any way to compel the Park and School board to maintain the
same districts?
Derek Burrows Reise

About time there is a change in the School Board and there should be members taking ownership
for a district or two. Otherwise, some areas have no voice, no recourse, no power. Such as what was
happening in our area the past couple of years. Let someone be elected who will represent the area,
be accountable for what is happening, and keep us informed.

However, I really don't know if the Park Board of late, is worthy of modeling structure!! :+}

Off the original post...
Does anyone remember when there was a post for Achieve Minneapolis, last December....donate money for the
school of your choice??? Well, I did....never got a confirmation... the money was taken out of my Visa.
Checked with the school of my choice in Nokomis, and they did not recall getting that money but
was going to check and if so...call me. Nary a word. E-mailed Achieve Minneapolis...never got a response.
According to the Website...they do great things...for all schools?
