[KB]  If the DFL wants one endorsed candidate from a convention, Instant Runoff 
Voting (IRV) will work quite well to give them that without making delegates 
sit through multiple ballots for hours on end.  It takes one ballot where they 
rank the candidates.  The election rules for IRV are quite clear and 
transparent and would simplify the rules committees' work, too (recalling the 
thread about the Ward 2 process).

I don't belong to the DFL, but just a suggestion.
