While I, from time to time, have some differences with Mr. Brauer (usually because of my passion on a very real problem being discussed) , he is to be complimented on the effectiveness of the "List". An effectiveness that is totally disproportionate to the number of its participants.
Discussions on "list" probably saved NRP, has had a real impact on policing North Minneapolis, the Sabri Issue on the Elroy Block, this Stormwatergate thing, and the list (excuse the pun) goes on and on.

Margaret is correct about housing starts that are claimed. Housing units take three to five years to create, so the ones coming on line in the last three years are mostly because of the last Mayor. We will not know the number for RT is responsible for until well after the next election. What we can measure and compare is how difficult is it to bring an affordable housing unit on-line? Is it easier today? Does it cost less or does it cost more? How effective has the Mayor been at creatively seeking outside funding for affordable housing for the next four years?
Anyone want to answer those questions?
Measures on the police are easier to see. How many police officers do we presently have compared to the when the Mayor took office? What is happening with the crime rate? How effectively is our police department being used, and its morale? These are things we can measure and things that are directly attributable to the Mayor.
Anyone want to answer those questions?
The Mayor was elected on the following issues 1. Support for NRP 2. Creating affordable housing 3. Openness and ethics of City Hall 4. Neighborhood Empowerment
How has the Mr. Rybak done on his promises on these key issues? Anyone want to answer those questions?
