Private businesses, ever since local governments started subsidizing them under the guise of promoting economic development, have trapped us all in a vicious circle. It is doubtful that the TOTAL amount of economic development has increased but local governments are now competing to see which of them can offer the largest subsidy to attract the economic development to their area. The only way off this vicious circle is for citizens to say firmly NO! NO MORE!
Robert Halfhill Loring Park

Does anyone remember when subsided development really started in Minneapolis...? By whom? I seem to recall when someone wanted to build a building...they went to the bank and got a loan. The services should be fully funded...then development with funds left over. Now development, with all the fancy initials, strips every dime first and leftovers are parceled to the services. I don't recall the rules about taxation stating *All for developers and none for all*

I would also like to state that if they are going to push through the stadium as they did LRT, we can look forward to half truths, slanted news media and a host of other dull unsavory activities best forgotten in the beaming shine of the rail car. Would it not be interesting if the third party...a Muslim woman, would pull off a Ventura Adventure amidst the smolder of the stadium. That would bundle a few socks!!

What is the average actual attendance to a Twins game? Do they not reach more people by radio and TV? When was the last time the stadium was filled for a game?...last time the stadium was filled period and for what reason?
