I am a supporter of Elizabeth Glidden, although I no longer live in the
ward. I don't know Jeff personally, but he has a very good reputation. I
do know Elizabeth, and she is a great person and as far from being a white
nationalist as anyone can be. I wish that Titi [if she really said that]
and anyone else who feels that this was a race issue would talk about why
they feel that way. I wish that the people who feel that there are other
issues involving the ward and the way the city is being run would talk about
those. I'm sure Jeff wouldn't want people to vote for him simply because he
is black, and I know Elizabeth would not want people to vote for her simply
because she's white. And I also think that all of us who believe in
representative democracy are concerned about having people of color in
positions of power. It sounds like there were more people who switched from
Hauser to Hayden than from Hauser to Glidden. Has anyone talked to them
about why? Are any on the list? Can they tell us why they supported one or
the other? Let's get some debate going and stop calling names.
