Mayor Rybak and Commissioner McLaughlin look more alike than ever. Both live in the "real world" of billionaire extortionists and "no new taxes except to transfer hundreds-of-millions-from-the-poor to-the-rich" Republicrats.
Both run rich campaigns. Do both run ethical campaigns? Both support the status quo in terms of spending: increasing public debt for more unsustainable infrastructure takes priority over public safety, education, sustainable transportation, sustainable economic development. Both support increased public debt for corporate welfare, which only binds us more closely to an unjust economic system. both make it more difficult to create sustainable economics. Farheen Hakeem does not have the money of either of the Democratic candidates, but the "bio" and "issues" pages on her website show her to be someone who will prioritize education and sustainable economic and infrastructure development. Right now, the two Democrats will have a tough time convincing me that they would work harder than Farheen Hakeem on these issues. -- pedaling for peace and ecojustice -- from Lynnhurst (Lynhurst?) -- Gary Hoover REMINDERS: 1.
