Like Peter McLaughlin's other shills the Police Federation knows that Peter has nowhere near the 60% of the delegates needed for endorsement. In fact, Peter's campaign admits they may not have even the 40% needed to block an endorsement. Their only chance is to drag out the process and hope we delegates follow the Police Federations advice and go home before dark... So expect to see Peter's campaign hacks lined up at the microphones making endless motions and worthless debate to delay the convention.
But this is an ENDORSING convention. If Peter wants a primary race he is welcome to sleep in tomorrow, tell his hacks not to bother nominating him, and saunter down to city hall when filing opens with his forms and fee.
A week ago I briefly flirted with supporting no endorsement as a protest against the stadium tax. But no great groundswell of support has developed for that caucus, and no endorsement plays right into the hands of Peter's negative campaign which should save their Rove like venom for the republicans that originated that style of "campaigning". So while still uncommitted I my cast a protest vote for Peter (and send a message to R.T.) on the first ballot, or maybe I won't... But on the second and later ballots I'm supporting whichever candidate has made it past 50% until we get an endorsement. If that takes all night, so be it!
