I do remember reading about the Madonna "Sex" picture book, it was a pretty
controversial issue at the time (back in 1992 - before I was on the board).
Minneapolis was one of only a couple of libraries in Minnesota that purchased
the book.

The book was a little pricey (limited edition book, stainless-steel-covered,
and wire-bound) and there was some concern that the book might not be returned
if allowed to circulate. It is my understanding that the library purchased a
couple of copies back then, but today only has one copy in reference.

Thanks,

Rod Krueger

Not quite. There was a coffee table fluff book by the "singer" Madonna.
MPL ordered only ONE copy, which copy was kept behind the desk and
patrons had to ask to use it.
