Question: is the special session of the MN State Legislature called only to sort out the state budget, or can other unfinished items be added "left over" from the regular session? Who decides this, and on what basis? Will any other items be tacked on, or only the stadium issue?

Any issue can be taken up. Generally the leadership decides what will
be addressed.

RealReporter: "Dr. Pangloss (-Opat, etc), why must the poor and the shrinking middle class receive even less for education, public safety, health insurance, and the like?"

Why do you persist in shouting this false myth of scarcity from the
rooftops? You are only helping those who want to maintain the status
quo and hurting those who are putting blood, sweat and tears into
changing things.

It's not about a ballpark vs. health care or health care vs. education.
It's about deciding what kind of community we want to live in and
allocating the funds to build it. I'd like to have a new ballpark in
my community. That does not mean I don't want quality public
education or a public transportation system that connects our cities
together. It means that in the budgeting process I want money
included for ALL of them. We are one of the richest states in the
wealthiest country in the history of the world. We do have the
resources to develop our community as we want. We have a visioning
problem, not a spending problem.
