I have read Tyrone Terrill's article and I agree with almost everything he
says, however I am disturbed about his calling gang activity "terrorism".
To me "terrorism" is a terrorist act, directed towards a group of people
because of their ethnicity, color, religious or political beliefs. Examples
are terrorists flying airliners into buildings, Tim McVeigh blowing up the
Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, Palestinians strapping explosives
on their bodies and walking into Pizzerias, Jewish settlers shooting up
Mosques, etc:

In 8 years of life in Jordan, I experienced better than $4,000 in damage to
my vehicles (on 6 separate incidents), had my house burglarized (several
thousand), had my garage burglarized ($2,000), had numerous things
stolen/broken from my yard, had my life threatened numerous times, had my
wife's life threatened numerous times, watched my neighbors experience
similar and equally horrific experiences. One of the NOT LOCAL bangers that
bused-in all the time from Brooklyn Park even threatened to turn ME into
police for molesting his 7 year-old cousin (she wasn't related), as I was
fixing the chain on her bicycle. His very evident reason for him doing so?
To get me to leave him alone, so he could sell drugs on MY street corner.
One neighbor (50 year-old woman that stands 5'1" tall was beaten (stitches
and broken finger) with a paver brick because she had the audacity to call
911 after asking the individuals to stop selling drugs and leave. Another
neighbor had a gun pulled on them and their life threatened when they (not
so nicely) told the individuals to get out of their yard and stop selling.
Had another neighbor (woman) have their lip spilt and received stitches when
they confronted a crap game on their front lawn. Another neighbor watched
in horror as a group of 3 were (at gun-point) ordering an individual into
the trunk of a car next to their garage. When they asked what was going-on,
they were ordered back to their yard.
I have witnessed the aftermath of numerous drive-by shootings. Hundreds of
threats of bodily harm and the "indoctrination" of "new" gang members on a
routine basis.
Oh they're terrorists all right, plain and simple. They are very willing to
"terrorize" the neighborhoods they operate in and in many instances, have no
compunction whatsoever in doing whatever they have to to achieve their
objectives. Including murdering the innocents including those that seem so
intent protecting them.
