I am writing this post for a friend... She wanted to get a permit today so she could go to the park and do some politicking for another. She does not drive and there is not a bus service, so a kind neighbor gave her a ride to Nokomis Community Center. The community center is closed...a sign on the door said *private event*.
She does not have a computer, but from what I understand from another's post, the park permit list does not include permits for campaigning. When she called... the frustration was apparent. Knowing that this policy has been around for a long time...why is it that people are having to jump through hoops to obtain a permit. There needs to be some accessiblity for people who don't drive...mail them out? put them in libraries? On the other hand..I noticed the kids at the pool at Bossen Fields. They were having a great time and many thanks for getting the pool ready there. Dorie Rae Gallagher/Nokomis REMINDERS: 1. Be civil! Please read the NEW RULES at http://www.e-democracy.org/rules.
