Councilmember Samuels did not "abandon his seat to challenge the only other
minority member on the council." If you really are consumed by the contest,
then you probably should have known that Councilmember Samuels had his seat
bumped out from beneath him by a redistricting process that somehow managed
to throw two incumbent Green Party councilmembers into districts where a
popular DFL incumbent also resides. For Councilmember Samuels not to
challenge Councilmember Johnson Lee, he would have to move out of his home
into another neighborhood, or simply not run for a second term. Those
seemingly untenable options are also available to Councilmember Johnson Lee,
of course.

I would like to encourage All to watch "Making People Accountable" on MTN
/Ch17 - Yes this is the program which was at the center of the hullabaloo
which caused Don Samuels to declare that he felt his life had been
threatened. In the end, no charges were filed/ or dismissed; and one
Commentator- Al Flowers is back on and seems to have honed in and appears to
be right on target.
I confess that as a resident of the 5th Ward, I am consumed with the contest
for the city council seat. I am simply unable to understand what would
motivate an incumbent to abandon his seat to challenge the only other
minority member on the council. I would hope and call for the
community-at-large to demand that Debates between the candidates take place,
in order that WE the people can make informed choices! For I too agree that

>>>" Everything secret degenerates,even the administration of justice;
nothing is safe that does not show how it can bear discussion and publicity"
