Jeanne Harris Writes:
Different parts of the City! It is highly possible that he could move a couple of blocks away or across the street! Jordan neighborhood is the only area of his 3rd Ward that shifted to the Fifth Ward. And he way he has maligned the people of Jordan - I would think he would relish the possibility of escaping- Consider- "my wife and I moved into Jordan about eight yrs ago because we realize that there is a brain drain from our community.. they don't know how much homework their children need to do , they don't know what good manners look like. Whose gonna teach teach them? I believe that my family has the resiliency to raise good children a bad neighborhood...." *

Dennis Plante Responds:
To dispute that a "brain-drain" of successfull African Americans From North Minneapolis has occurred would be inaccurate to say the least. And to say that people that are experiencing social problems do NOT need to be challenged to do more to become successfull, contributing members of society is like-minded.

Jeanne Harris Writes:
There is ample documented evidence that Samuels has absolutely no respect for the people of the Northside and Jordan in particular! And an elected representative has a duty to serve all of the people in his ward / not just those with whom he shares an ethnic or cultural identity ! He has gone on record as saying that he had no interest in representing ethnic immigrants,et al- I personally find that reprehensible!

Dennis Plante Responds:
I guess the difference in opinions is how you define "respect" for Jordan residents. If you define respect as a complete tolerance to any type of behaviour, then yes, I would agree with you. However, if you define "respect" as truly caring about and wanting the best for someine(s), then I believe you are wrong. I would like for you to provide documentation to the effect of your assertion that CM Samuels has no interest in representing ethnic immigrants. CM Samuels is in fact, an immigrant himself. If anyone clearly understands the issues facing an immigrant, he would. Saying the "sky is green", when in fact it is blue, only goes so far towards convincing people.
