I'd go one step further and ask for increased enforcement of the
walkers/runners in the bike lane, and vice versa. I am both a runner and a
biker and when one is in the other's lane, it's downright dangerous. (In my
experience, runners tend to be sassier when instructed about their
transgressions.) Lake of the Isles is the worst.........it's so bad, I
simply will not ride there anymore.

I emailed the Park Police about this early in the spring, and they promised
me increased enforcement. I think the problem is not as bad on the Parkway
and around Lakes Harriet and Calhoun as it used to be.

Subject: [Mpls] An idea for MN or Mpls

wrong way on the one-way bike lanes in her neighborhood. I'd like to see
better cop enforcement of the directions of the lanes, and also more
aggressive tagging of cabs and delivery trucks and even cop cars that think
they can use the bike lane for parking. Riders going the wrong way often
force bikers following the correct direction out into traffic lanes. It
happens a lot on the Portland/Park lanes and also downtown, where most of
the riders are old enough to know better. It would help in the city
repainted the directional arrows each time that it stripes the lanes.
