How is the crime in the City due to RT's management of the City? McLaughlin &
supporters continue to put the blame on RT for the loss in officers, when it
has been conclusively shown that the loss was due to the LGA cuts and the
Federal Cuts (i.e. Clinton Cops). It wasn't that RT was sitting around and
just decided that he didn't want cops, the funding was pulled away by a
Governor and Presidential Administration that had other priorities (i.e.
Halliburton contracts and lower property taxes for businesses), but instead of
being angry at those two, McLaughlin supports continue to attack RT for State
and Federal decisions that not only was he opposed to, but also that the City
could not stop. Since Mc & company know that this is the reason, why do they
keep blaming RT? Why does Mc & company persist in holding HIM responsible for
things that the City, with all of its resources couldn't stop. And for
consistency sake, Peter's district is in Minneapolis, why didn't he stop th
 e LGA
cuts or the Federal Cuts? He has been so instrumental lobbying the Federal
Government for things like Light Rail, why didn't he make sure that the City
retained the Federal and State dollars? Must be because he doesn't care about
Minneapolis, just as he says that RT doesn't...

Further, McLaughlin supporters keep criticizing RT's budget and say the obvious
of there's not enough for Public Safety, which is easy, because there's never
enough for Public Safety. But what none of you will say, is what should have
been or should be cut to increase the Public Safety budget. I would love for
there to be more money in Public Safety, we desperately need it, but the budget
doesn't operate in a vacuum. Since the State and Federal government took away
our funding for Public Safety, and Peter did nothing to stop them yet continues
to attack RT about the numbers, why doesn't he tell us what department or
allocation in the budget should have been reduced or eliminated in order to
replace the funding the Federal and State governments took?

I remember when I was younger I wanted lots and lots of allowance money, I
wanted new clothes every week. I wanted ponies and bikes and toys galore...
but my prudent parents were on a budget, so that they could save for my
education, my braces, the addition on our house. All the things that weren't
fun or instant gratification, but our family needed them to be healthy,
successful and comfortable. In my eyes, this is what I have seen from the RT
administration. I have also 'bummed' into him many times in my neighborhood.
Not only for public events, but for daily occurances such as him doing a police
ride-a-long, or him visitng a a block club party. RT is my neighbor, even if
he lives many miles away.
