Here is an opportunity to see a couple of preview shows from the Minnesota Fringe Festival at your Minneapolis Public Library (MPL).
Minnesota Fringe Festival is an annual eleven-day festival of live stage performance and visual arts, including theater, dance and performance art, puppetry, spoken word, storytelling and more. In 2004, there were 176 different performing arts companies and individual artists in 21 venues staging 902 different performances! Plus 17 visual artists in five different exhibitions. The Fringe Festival runs from August 4-14, 2005. · Kairos Intergenerational Dance Theater - July 26th The intergenerational Kairos Dance Theatre will give a much anticipated performance at Hosmer Community Library . The Modern Dance theater features dancers ranging in age from five to 90 . Kairos has performed all over the United States and will be in this year's Fringe Festival performing in the show "Varieties of Love". The troupe features 15 core members who interpret themes such as war, peace and dances of joy . As always this is a free event. Everyone welcome. Get a sneak preview of four teen-produced shows that will perform at this year's Minnesota Fringe Festival, August 4-14, including "Camelot is Crumbling" by Maximum Verbosity; "DIVE" by Expression of Faith and a new work produced by Look Ma I Wrote a Play. Come check out the short sneak previews of shows that were either written by, made for, or feature teens. Admission is free.
