Mike Skoglund:
This happened to us last Sunday morning, in the Bancroft neighborhood. We
called the city, and they told us it happens when someone opens a fire
hydrant. It could have been the fire department, or it could have been
people trying to beat the heat.
The fire hydrants along Lake St. are being replaced while the street itself is being replaced. I've noticed the crews opening fire hydrants away from Lake St. as part of the process of replacing the hydrants (which process is pretty interesting).
