No games folks ... I received a note this morning from someone saying that they accidentially deleted the other candidates, but fear not, the wiki has a history of every change/version. Someone else fixed it before I had a chance to grab the text from the history. When we get all the candidates on the sheet and put out a last call, we will "lock" the page before the primary and then again afterwards. > Steven Clift wrote: > (no web site/e-mail and you don't exist on our site :-)). > > We assume that everyone has one or the other, but maybe not. > No one should be excluded, just because they don't have access to > the net and email. > > I remember a plea from Brauer for some candidate...maybe it was for > the school board...a truly odd scary fellow...who was unreachable even > by phone...to send in his info for the candidate profiles for > the Southwest > Journal...and the guy did it! That's democracy! Yes, we can put everyone on the ballot on the master list, but the simple pages with links to websites and e-mail addresses need to link somewhere. If you are a candidate, at least set up web-based e-mail account that you can access from the library if access is problem for you. > > I'm exceeding my daily word ration.. ack! just a few more > > I'd also like to see links to other sources of candidate and election > information > ... on the e-democracy candidate website. > > when they appear, such as candidate profiles in the SW > journal...League > of Women Voters (esp. their how to figure out where you vote stuff) > and the Strib. > > Photos of the candidates would be good, as well...except those > would also require watching. > Sounds like a great job for a volunteer. If someone collects both print and web quality photos we can put them up for access to all publications. The key would be to set some standard parameters. Also, if another volunteer would like to build out the wiki to include a standard set of "voter guide" fields (candidate bio, statement, position on X set of issues, etc.) we can give it try. The key to our model is that if you do it on the E-Democracy.Org site it will be shared under the Creative Commons so any publication could reuse the text with attribution. This would be a major undertaking ... perhaps start with Mayor or Park Board At-Large or something. Any takers?
