What a ridiculous argument, Nikki.

None of those people are Park Board Commissioners who can vote on this deal. No
one is saying that those who have a vested interest in the outcome of this
issue (De LaSalle parents, employees, alum or Island residents) cannot comment
or lobby on this issue. The conflict of interest comes in when a biased party
who is a voting member of the body with jurisdiction does not recuse
herself/himself from the vote.

The homeowners on Nicollet Island who live on park land are a party to the very
same 1983 contract that promises the playing field to DeLaSalle. They have a
direct financial interest in the issue as neighborhood amenities affect home
values. Are they unbiased? No one is asking them to recuse themselves from the
debate.

What about the state representative and island resident? What about the CPC
head and island resident?
