The City of Minneapolis will be accepting applications in August 2005 for employment in our new 3-1-1 Call Center. The 311 Call Center will be the face of Minneapolis and will give residents and visitors one easy-to-remember phone number to call with non-emergency questions. A call to 311 may be the first and only contact that Minneapolis residents and visitors have with the City.
We are looking for energetic people who are eager to provide excellent customer service. 311 team members will have strong communication, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills. Qualifications for Customer Services Agents: § High school diploma (or equivalent) and two (2) years of senior level clerical experience including experience with customer service. § Excellent customer service skills. § Proficient at keyboarding (at least 30 words per minute with no errors) § Ability to analyze situations to determine what services or information is being requested. § Good reading/comprehension skills. § Ability to solve problems. § Ability to work different shifts. § Pass a criminal background check. Starting salary for 311 Customer Service Agent 1s: $14.22 per hour for first 3 months, then $15.12 per hour. Customer Service Agent 2s (lead workers): $15.94 per hour for first 3 months, then $16.96 per hour. Three 311 Shift Supervisor positions are also available.
