Gina writes: "Nice attempted attack on Schiff's record. Clearly you haven't been paying attention to his work."
Yes. I have. Close attention. Gina Continues: "Gary created new resources to fight graffiti, reorganizing the city's approach. Now if your property is damaged, the city will send you a form giving the city permission to paint it over for you free of cost." I am aware of this welcome change in the law. However, painting over graffiti is just a white-wash, and doesn't address the real gang problem that the graffiti is only a visible symptom of. This change is good, however, because it decriminalizes being the victim of vandalism. Meanwhile, a new ordiance Schiff championed criminalizes being the victim of theft. Gina again: "In addition, Gary got Hennepin County to create new resources for gang prevention, addressing the problem at it' source." Working quite well, isn't it? You said yourself graffiti is all over the place. We know violent crime is on the rise, and spreading. Gina: "So you want trucks to idle in front of homes all night? Nice platform position! Uggh..smelly streets and sleepness nights. Why would I vote for Shagsted?!!" No. I want hard working men and women who make commerce work to survive their required stays overnight in a Minneapolis winter. I want them to keep their vehicles in operating condition. I want them to keep warm. Notice that city vehicles are exempt from the idling ban? Easy enough to pick on out-of-town truckers, though. They don't vote here. That's why I'll vote for Shegstad.
