Minneapolis Professional Employees Association (MPEA) Endorses McLaughlin
Minneapolis City and Park professional employees have had enough of Mayor
Rybak's failed reform policies. Four years ago, the Minneapolis
Professional Employees Association (MPEA) endorsed Rybak for Mayor. This
year, MPEA endorses Peter McLaughlin for Mayor.
One wonders again, exactly what groups do endorse and support RT RYBAK? The
police, the firefighters, the public employees of the City all understand
the failure the Rybak administration has become. Not specifically because
of RT, heck he is a affable well meaning person. It is because of his
appointments. In that, though well meaning, Mayor Rybak has been an utter
failure. While RT might be a great person to have at a party, you sure would
not want him planning and making arrangements for it.

I heard a funny today. There was a discussion of Mayor Rybak being like
Lite-Beer. Mayor-Lite, someone said. "Looks Great and Less Substance." I,
of course, threw in my pitch for such characteristics being perfect to
anchor the Ten O'clock News. Everyone agreed that RT was perfect.
Attractive, glib, and willing to sound authoritative about things without
any real substance or foundation for his statements. The jokes went on with
someone contributing that when Mayor Rybak discusses policy he is like a Red
River Valley sheet flood after a summer rain. He covers everything, and his
knowledge seems a mile wide, but it is really only an inch deep! There was a
great deal of hilarity about the whole thing with a couple saying "Looks
Great" and a couple of people yelling back "Less Substance". Then everyone
rolling with laughter.
I guess some politicians really do need to be looked at with humor. They
seem less silly that way.

Perhaps former Rybak supporters thought of the following statement when they
decide to support McLaughlin -
"Every great mistake has a halfway moment, a split second when it may be
recalled and perhaps remedied."<
