I want to thank both Barbara Lickness for her post regarding "A
Different Take on Dean Z FBI Investigation" and the list Manager for
"Samuels on New Orleans, Johnson Lee"
Ms. Lickness wrote a very cogent explanation of why the FBI acted
when it did ... it adds to understanding in a rational and
independent way. What I most appreciate is her providing an
explanation without making any personal points and (at least to this
reader) a true sense of sadness about Mr. Zimmerman's plight.
The List Manager, contrary to any speculated claims, provided a true
service by reprintng the Politics in Minnesota interview with Don
Samuels. I was somewhat predisposed to Mr. Samuels previously. This
interview elevates his standing in my eyes. I especially appreciated
these comments ... put them in the category "Darn, wish I'd said that":
Samuels: The Republicans idealize capitalism. They think the market
always
self- corrects. That's not the way it always works.
/snip/
The Democrats oversimplify the answers. They think if you are
liberal and have good will, that's enough.
/snip/
The policies stay static while the problem wildly mutates. The
policies simply have to change to accommodate the mutations.
And that's my second and final post for the day.
