I was commenting to my partner how much ego strength it takes to run for office and hold office. I don't have that kind of ego strength. I have an ego as many can attest to. But to have people publicly criticizing (as I often do) and at times maligning (as I bet I have done)... that is more than I could take as a steady diet.
