Anyone who thinks that the FBI and US Attorney don't "get involved" in
local, partisan politics is not thinking clearly.  Remember Brian Herron?
He was allowed to continue being a city councilperson for months after they
knew he was dirty, he was then allowed to plead before a federal judge in an
unannounced court hearing and I think it was on the very last day that
people had to file for his seat.  Something like that.  It was unreal.  And
the FBI and the US Attorney's office orchestrated the whole thing.
