I know that this is a few days old, but I've been out
of town.

"[...] Greens are powerless for a reason; a reason
that I pointed out and a sore spot as Shove's post
attests: most of them left the Democratic Party in
frustration to bring about the changes that many of us
want, and they lost any chance of success in doing so.
They weaken the position of any sustainability minded
Democrats, Republicans, or Independents; and the
Cassandra-like whining actually undermines any hope of
bringing needed change."
Well, the problem with Cassandra as a point of
comparison is....Cassandra was RIGHT, and no one would
listen to her, and people who failed to listen to her
died HORRIBLE, TRAGIC, PAINFUL deaths.
Only a cursed fool failed to listen to Cassandra. They
all died, every last one of them, Agamemnon,
Clytemnestra, and all of those poor Trojans. I may not
know Greek mythology, but my partner says this blatant
misuse of it must not stand. But then again, maybe it
was apropos....

"The main thing that marks my methodology
is that I really do use myself as a control.
I pay very close attention to myself, my
feelings because then I have a base.
And it is not intellectual... You are the
instrument of research. This is a very
important point to underscore. We really
should pay more attention to the senses and
to ourselves."
