I have to admit, that I have only attended one 5th ward debate and viewed a tape of another 5th ward debate (the one regarding the allegation of the Trendsetter being pornographic), and my response is the same. Everyone should get a tape of at least the two debates I have listed. I think CP NJL is clear on her accomplishments and the direction she sees the 5th ward going in. She answers all of the question clearly.
Some of you may say that CP Samuels answered the questions posed to him and I, in my own right, would disagree. DENNIS PLANTE WROTE: Instead of dragging a candidate through the mud, why not list the accomplishments of the two candidates during their time in office. Anyone? MICHELLE HILL RESPONDS: CP Samuels stated his accomplishments, at the two debates I have "viewed," and that was OK with his supporters. When CP NJL state her accomplishments, Samuels supporters accuse her of not stating her accomplishments. They need to hand out Q-Tips at the next debate so everyone in attendance can clear the wax from their ears. Or perhaps ALL should leave their personal biases at the door, so that you can listen to "accomplishments" and plans for the next 4 years in the 5th ward, in a fair and objective manner. If I was stalling and had no answer to the question posed, I too would hold up a copy of Trendsetter to distract the audience from the real issues. I think CP Samuels probably made the Trendsetter more popular than it was. People need to be careful about the First Amendment. DENNIS PLANTE WROTE: What exactly is CM Samuels saying that so many people seem to be taking offense to and WHY are they taking offense to what he is sayng? Is it because they don't understand what he's saying? Or, because they feel threatened by what he says? MICHELLE HILL RESPONDS: The problem is that we do understand what CP Samuels is saying and that is what scares me. Those in other wards following this 5th ward debate, I urge you to watch the tapes.....at the least the two I have listed. I truly believe that the outcome of this race could affect all wards and Minneapolis for a long time to come. Those who do not care about what's going on in the 5th ward..... there is nothing wrong with that feeling either. Michelle Hill Cleveland REMINDERS: 1. Be civil!
