From the Star Trib today....
October 11, 2005 BLIMP
Enough is Enough and Had it Up to Here? These are the two messages
displayed on either side of an advertising blimp flying around the metro
area this month. The blimp is rented in this market by Lightships of
Orlando, Fla. Lightships' account manager Diana Page said she and her
co-workers have been kept in the dark about what the message means and who
paid for it. What she could say is that the blimp is 128 feet long, 36 feet
wide, full of helium and lit from the inside for night display. It is flown
by one or two pilots and parks over night at Crystal Airport where a ground
crew of 10 pulls it to the ground and locks it to a mast. It was flown here
from Washington, D.C., at a maximum speed of 53 miles per hour. With twin
80-horsepower engines, it's considered a general aircraft and typically
avoids large airports.
