Whomever that person is in the state making the comment should realize the mess RT took on the first day of office. The debt left by the beloved SSB. The Southwest Journal has some good articles with the facts and figures listed. Had we not elected RT and had gotten SSB back in office, I can't imagine the financial nightmare the city would be in. Thank goodness the people of Minneapolis voted her and part of the council out...with others going to jail. Time to clean up Minneapolis politics...

We lost millions in LGA monies...perhaps if the DFL had given us a stronger
more electable candidate than Moe...we would not have a GOP sitting on Summit right
now. If the DFL had paid attention to the House and Senate races, we would
not have the GOP majorities who dislike Minneapolis so much...and when you give a city more money than they pay in...someone is going to wonder why... especially when
their town/city is not receiving the same benefit.

Saint Paul has had two mayors that have been GOP's dressed in DFL garb...both have actually run the city quite well. I am glad that RT can cross the line to all parties, Minneapolis needs to get away from the old quard and old politics. Get the developers out of the back pockets of council, make a budget and stick with it, respect zoning laws and the citizens who live in the neighborhoods. If I remember correctly...crime was a problem in the 90's..extending pensions, debt, and everything else to free up a buck or two will only create more problems in the future such as what we had four years ago.

I believe the mayor has done well considering what he stepped into. Public safety is an issue and surely this type of problem does not correct itself overnight nor do I believe that RT created it. Besides...speaking of looks...you're cute also Jim. Was your
good looks a factor in getting the Empowerment money??!

This past week a leading person from the State commented (disgustedly) that that bunch in the Mayor's office couldn't run a frat beer party, let alone a City or political party. She also commented that the Republicans love RT being Mayor, that his staff does more to make Republicans look good than anything they could do themselves. Sadly I think she is correct.
