Interesting article in Sunday's PIONEER PRESS regarding the Southwest
Minneapolis condo conversions and how they are taking a big bite out of
affordable
housing units.

" ' These things are coming fast and furious,' said Patrick Todd, a city
assessor. 'You have affordable housing renters vying for the same square
footage
as first-time home buyers-both trying to occupy the same square footage. So
who should be there?' "

The article outlines what some renters would have to pay in order to buy
their units and discusses possible changes to the city ordinances regarding
condo conversions.
