The posting by Commissioner McLaughlin regarding the MPR debate is a nice attempt at spin. Claiming victory doesn't make it true. McLaughlin's post claims the Commissioner clearly laid out his vision. What vision is that? Is it the vision that puts 150 cops on the street in three years? Wait, it's not 150 cops but 250 in five years. No wait again, it's not really 50 cops per year but a net 25 because he forgot to account for annual attrition. And does anyone really know his "vision" for paying for these additional cops?? He's had almost as many "visions" for public safety as he's had campaign managers.
