So, I encourage all of you to weigh
in on this issue and the policy ramifications of giving away our Parks.
Call your Commissioners and vote next week!

Here's a shortcut to getting info. on contacting Park Commissioners (and you don't have to be limited to contacting only the one from your district). Go to www.delasalle.com/athletic_facility/MPRBCommissioners.pdf That'll give you the info. De LaSalle is supplying, including the identification of those who "Voted FOR DeLaSalle".

For additional info. you can go to www.mplsparkwatch.org

That organization records minutes and supplies links to news articles concerning not only the Athletic Stadium issue, but many other Park Board issues, as well.

Barry's right to encourage people to weigh in. Nicollet Island is a regional park that belongs to ALL Minneapolis residents. Even those taxpayers in the metro whose $1 million + purchased the land at issue are stakeholders (the land was purchased by the Met Council for regional open space park.)

This has never been just a dispute between De LaSalle and the Island residents, no matter how hard De LaSalle supporters try to frame it that way.

Speak up, tune in (broadcast of hearing Wednesday at 5:30) and VOTE a week from Tuesday.
