Hennepin County Offers Insurance to Domestic Partners

Tuesday afternoon the Hennepin County board passed a resolution, offered by
Commissioner Peter McLaughlin, expanding eligibility for long-term care and
life insurance to include domestic partners of county employees.

“Allowing domestic partners to be covered by life and long-term care
insurance is smart business practice, but it’s also the right thing to do,”
said McLaughlin.

Both benefits are optional and paid for entirely by employees.
