Prefabbed suburban vanilla!! Love that description...finding Block E to be
a dismal failure in adding anything of color to the city...I miss old
Hennepin
also. It would have been nice to have kept lower Hennepin from years ago
it had some great buildings and of course, the library on 12th!! Oh woe...
Minneapolis has squashed all color, character, history, and anything unique
into a blender to give us Dan's drab vanilla. One area that IS enjoying a
renewal is along Washington Ave. in the Warehouse district. The buildings
are looking grand and stately with some nice little shops tucked inside.
GOOD LUCK to ALL political candidates (some a little more than others!)
as they are on the last treke to victory on Tuesday.

Mike Nelson makes excellent points about Block E. I, too recall fondly the
old Block E, before it became a parking lot and ultimately the new
monstrosity as it now stands. That block had character! Now it look
prefabbed, and suburban vanilla.
