I've been out of town (Mom's 90th birthday), so I'm sorry if this has run
its course. But I saw Dennis Plante had written that Natalie Johnson Lee had
gotten $1200 in donations from the Hafiz family, the family who owns Deja Vu
and Dream Girls, two of the most notorious skin clubs in town. I don't
remember seeing any responses.

I see that Dean Zimmermann has taken $600 from two Hafiz family members too.

Here's one of the Green Party guiding principles:
"7. FEMINISM AND GENDER EQUITY
We have inherited a social system based on male domination of politics and
economics. We call for the replacement of the cultural ethics of domination
and control with more cooperative ways of interacting that respect
differences of opinion and gender. Human values such as equity between the
sexes, interpersonal responsibility, and honesty must be developed with
moral conscience. We should remember that the process that determines our
decisions and actions is just as important as achieving the outcome we
want."

That doesn't mesh very well with our two Green Party members taking these
very large donations from owners of two of the biggest skin clubs in town.

Then I see that Mayor RT Rybak has taken $500 from Peter Hafiz, owner of
Deja Vu Inc, too. That doesn't send a good message either, from our clean
government mayor, our "I don't take donations from people who do business at
city hall" mayor.

By the way, one of my favorite donations on RT's list is a donation from
Cafe Brenda. It's listed as first name Cafe, last name Brenda, with
"information requested" where the employer name goes. I admit I laughed out
loud.

I heard RT on Almanac this morning saying he has sent back "thousands" of
dollars of donations. I think RT, Dean and Natalie need to send all of these
donations back.

Or what are principles for, after all?
