Not that anyone cares, but here are my endorsed candidates: Mayor: RT Rybak. Given the hand he was dealt, RT's done an admirable job. McLaughlin has not given me any reasons to change leadership now. He's obviously qualified but his plans don't match his numbers. Also don't think PMcL has the temperment to be an effective mayor.
Ward 10: Scott Persons. Scott has the experience over Remington hands down. I want someone who will be able to step into the job right from the get go. Persons also has a more realistic sense that well planned development is good for the City and its tax base. Remington is articulate and passionate, however I want more from my City Council member. Parks 6th District. Reluctantly Bernstein. This is wholly a vote against Fine not a vote for Bernstein. I don't agree with much of what Jim Bernstein says but it is so important to get Bob Fine off the Park Board that I will hold my nose and vote for Jim Bernstein. Parks open: Berry Graves, Nordyke, Forney. It's time for a new direction at the park board, however xx number of ineffective years on the Park Board means that Annie Young won't get my vote again (not that she will need it). Libary: Smart, Mains. I disagree with a lot of Samantha Smart's idea for the Libraries but at least she has ideas -- which is more than one can say for the pablum served up by the rest of the Libary Board candidates, many of whom have run on the platform of "I'm DFL endorsed." Sheldon Mains also stands out from this sordid bunch and should bring a sharp eye to the rather large budget issues facing the city's libraries. Board of Taxation: Becker. Ok I get it, you like public finance. Now go get 'em. Now will you rein in my property taxes? Dean E. Carlson East Harriet Ward 10 REMINDERS: 1. Be civil!
