WizardMarks,
I have a few points to make. First, I was talking in general, not to a
specific person. I am talking about all those who are G/L/B/T in this
state seem to forget that the Church has faught for equality and human
rights.
Archbishop Roach was publicly supportive of the 1993 Human Rights act, and
the St Paul referendum campaign to add gays to the St Paul human rights
statute. (This referendum was to overturn the 78 referendum repealing a St
Paul City Council action on the topic).
Last year when the Bachmann amendment was heard, the Catholic Conference
had a letter in support of the amendment, but Harry Flynn did not show up
to testify. I appreciated that. I hope that Flynn will not show up to
testify this year.
This year, it appears that Flynn is taking stronger action in favor of the
Bachmann amendment. He sent a letter to Catholic Priests urging them to
attend the upcoming Pastor's Summit sponsored by the anti-gay Minnesota
Family Council

I was at the Park Board meeting when John Erwin raised the
non-discrimination issue. He wanted the issue explicitly included in the
agreement with De La Salle - just as this is included in all other
agreements the Parks make. He posted on the topic here.
