I'll start off by saying the worst attendance record - by far, is 4th ward
council member Barb Johnson. It's appalling that she doesn't have
significant opposition over this. In my opinion, if she does not improve
her attendance, she does not deserve the plum assignment on Ways and
Means. Barb Johnson: full council: 2002 -missed 15% of meetings, 2003
missed 19% of meetings, 2004 missed 7 percent of meetings, 2005 missed 29%
of meetings (through 3/11/2005). I would like to see the city start
posting this information on the city website - in aggregated format.

As I said earlier: I have decided to vote for Don Samuels on Tuesday.
When Travis Lee and Jerry Moore from Natalie's campaign talked to me about
this race, they told me that Don Samuels had a poor attendance record in
the city council. I checked with another city council person who off the
record, told me that was correct.
I have since obtained the attendance records for council committees and
full council meetings. Don's attendance record is problematic. Natalie's
attendance record is also. She chairs the HHS committee - and she doesn't
have good attendance at that committee. Let the numbers speak for
themselves:

Megan wrote the reasons for Don Samuels absences were because of the
vigils. In my opinion, that's not appropriate. He ran for city council -
and he should make it a priority to attend council meetings. I hope his
attendance rate improves when he is reelected.
