I'm curious as to whether folks percieve Becky Lourey's history as a resident in the Wedge neighborhood, though some time ago, as an advantage for Lourey among Minneapolis DFL'ers.
Certainly Lourey's history in Minneapolis combined with her years in Kerrick as a state senator and comunity leader give her some unique advantages as a politician in being able to bridge the gap with understanding both urban and rural perspectives on the issues and how to frame them to appeal to both regions of the state. What other announced gubernatorial candidates have histories of residing in the city? What vision would we like gubernatorial candidates to have regarding our corner of the state? What positions can all of we Minneapolitans(and lovers of the city) hope to hold all the gubernatorial candidates to in order to win our votes? I'll start by saying that it seems everyone agrees that it would be better and create a more level playing field for our businesses for the smoking ban to go statewide. Perhaps even the most impacted businesses agree with this as it would at least level the playing field. David Strand Loring Park __________________________________ Yahoo!
