Jason Stone said: "One of these developers, Paul Klodt, is promoting a massive development in Ward 12. Klodt is now a major contributor to the elections of Council Member Colvin Roy and Park Commissioner Kummer."
Really? Let's be honest here. An online check of CM Colvin Roy's and Commissioner Kummer's campaign donations shows NO contribution to EITHER campaign committee from Mr. Klodt. Mr. Stone and his friends don't like the PIPs because they opposed his candidacy. But a contribution to an independent PAC is NOT a contribution to the candidates who it may be advocating on behalf of. This is no different from people donating to legislative party caucuses, labor-related PACs, social-justice PACs, environmental PACs, business PACs, prolife or prochoice PACs, or any other PAC formed by people of like interests. They are used to pool money to have maximum impact. They're legal contributions, the donors are protecting or promoting their own interests, and they're no different than any donations to the park reform group that supported, advocated for, and spent money to elect Mr. Stone. linda higgins old highland REMINDERS: 1.
