OK, Here is a zip file that should activate Exchange Servers SMTP and NNTP support via SNMP: NAME: EX2K-SNMP-MODS.ZIP SIZE: 38KB
CONTENTS: ----------- REGINI.EXE (program to load registry) SMTP-NNTP.REG (registry file) RFC1566-MTA.MIB (MIB) SMTP.MIB (MIB) NNTP.MIB (MIB) PREREQUISITES: -------------- Simple Mail Transport Protocol Service Network News Transport Protocol Service Exchange Server 2000 SNMP Service TEST BEFORE USING IN PRODUCTION!!! TEST BEFORE USING IN PRODUCTION!!! INSTRUCTIONS: -------------- 1) Unzip into a temporary directory 2) Stop the SNMP service 3) Be sure that you have SMTPMIB.DLL and NNTPMIB.DLL in %SystemRoot%\System32\inetsrv 4) Run "regini smtp-nntp.reg" (omit the "") - This configures the SNMP registry hive 5) Load the SMTP.MIB, NNTP.MIB, and RFC1566-MTA.MIB into Getif/MIBS (EVERYONE uses Getif, right?) 6) delete the .index file in Getif/MIBS 7) Restart the SNMP service. Using Getif, you should now be able to browse to: .iso.org.dod.internet.mgmt.mib-2.mta .iso.org.dod.internet.private.enterprises.microsoft.software.internetSer ver.smtpServer.iso.org.dod.internet.private.enterprises.microsoft.softwa re.internetServer.nntpServer ...
